Welcome! This is meant to serve YOU as you dive into your own journey into the Embodied Self Parenting Challenge.
The point of all of this is the following:
What we can call your inner child holds the keys to your wellbeing.
It might be a little bruised. It might feel a little disowned. But this process WORKS. It can bring you profound shifts and healing if you turn yourself over to it.
These two weeks are all about meeting that part of you with a level of loving parenting and honoring that's beyond conditioning, grounded in the experience OF YOUR BODY (which is where everything's always going on).
I'm already about one quarter into the process and I'm telling you, the insights, breakthroughs and takeaways have been off the chart. I've been at this kind of work for decades and this has been, hands down, one of the most effective processes I've ever experienced.
I want this for you too!
So here's what I invite you to do:
- Check out the previous posts on @the_body_cure instagram. There're recordings, insights, supportive tools up there ALREADY, that will really get your wheels turning.
- Follow @the_body_cure and switch on notifications so you can follow along and get all the extra support, insights and recordings that I'll be posting throughout these two weeks.
- Take out your childhood and baby pictures and snap some shots on your phone. Even if you don't choose to post them, it's good that you have them there with you throughout the day. Maybe even make it your screen saver? Just a thought.
- If you only have one or two pictures, that's totally fine. Use those for as many days as you choose to join in.
- For every day you join, look at that picture, take a deep breath, feel into your heart and body, and let sensations and feelings come to the surface. Deep slow breathing can help settle your nervous system enough that you can attune to subtle sensations. There are no wrong answers if you stick to what you really feel.
- Looking at that picture, spend some time really stepping into the role of the ideal parent onto that little one, here are some prompts to get you started:
- What does that child deserve?
- What does that child want?
- What does that child need?
- What is that child afraid of?
- What makes that child feel safe?
- What does that child get to have?
-What is this child worthy of?
-What will you do to support this child?
- What does that child get to believe?
- How does that child get to experience the world?
- What beliefs do you want to instill in this child around:
Their power, their boundaries, love, belonging, safety, agency, vulnerability, consent, curiosity, community?
Write these down and return to the answers over and over again.
You might even want to record them on voice memos.
And of course feel free to come up with your own.
- You'll also find recordings and helpful pointers posted on Instagram that will help a lot.
- I'd love to cheer you on and read your posts, if that's something you'd like, tag me @the_body_cure on instagram or click here to get to the FB page where you can post directly.
- It all starts March 1st but you can join any time.
- And scroll all the way down this page and subscribe!
It's the best way to get consistent support THAT WORKS, right away you'll get a number of AMAZING free practices, videos and meditations, and if it's not your cup of tea, you can opt out any time.
See you on the path or on the other side!
This will be bananas.
Love,
Melanie
